[9p-S321-12] Theory on Electrode Over Potential of All-Solid Electrochemical Energy Device

Keywords:electrochemical energy conversion devices, rechargeable battery, over potential

Theory on over potential of all-solid electrochemical devices is discussed based on the classical irreversible thermodynamics. Concentration over potential is found to be related to the chemical potential gradient in order to diffuse a neutral chemical species from the solid electrolyte/electrode interface to internal space of electrodes as a result of steady state current flow. Moreover, we successfully derive the balance equation of entropy production rate to express a steady state of charge and discharge of the electrochemical devices.
