[9p-W611-4] Textured Rib-Si Solar Cells

We are developing Rib type Si solar cells with an aim of improving the conversion efficiency. In this work, we tried to prepare a textured Rib solar cell aiming at an increase in photocurrent. If KOH is used for preparing Rib structure using the textured wafer, after the etching with KOH, the original textured structure disappears from the thinned region, and the external quantum efficiency in the long wavelength region could not be enhanced. Therefore, in this work, the texture etching was performed after anisotropic etching with KOH. As a result, we obtained a conversion efficiency of 19.7% (1 cm2) for a Rib structure with a thin-region thickness of 80 μm
