By combining spintronics and phononics, fascinating phenomena in condensed matter physics have been discovered. In the present talk, I will give an introduction to physics of the interdisciplinary area, including discovery of some magnon-phonon coupled phenomena and recently established spin wave
tomography using ultrafast time resolved measurements.
