The separation of special cells from a heterogenous cell group is an essential step in a variety of biomedical applications. We have developed a Laser-assisted Impedance Cytometry to evaluate mechanical properties of single cells, in which the response of the cell to the femtosecond laser impulse is assessed as position shift in the channel.
