Graphite is a typical two-dimensional layered material. However, research on the band structure of the conduction band has been stagnant. We have developed low-energy inverse photoelectron spectroscopy (LEIPS) that can measure the unoccupied state with high accuracy. Recently, we have also developed angle-resolved LEIPS (ARLEIPS), which enables angle-resolved measurements, and enabled conduction band observations. In this study, this ARLEIPS was applied to highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG). In addition, the simulation method of polycrystal spectrum was used to compare with the experimental results.
