[10a-Z29-2] Structure evaluation of MoS2(1-x)Te2x alloy through Mo chemical binding states analysis
Keywords:transition metal dichalcogenides, alloy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy
The research on alloys of layered materials are progressing further and further recently. However, phase separation seen in, for example alloy of graphene and h-BN is one issue that needs to be solved. The same applies to the alloy of MoS2 and MoTe2. Confrimation of whether there is phase separation or not is a cricitical evaluation in alloy, and non-destructive and easy-to-perform method is preferred. In this study we propose a method using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It is expected that performing 2 peak-fitting for Mo 3d orbital for MoS2(1-x)Te2x and examining the difference in the peak energy values would reveal whether the sample shows phase separation or not. In this presentation, we report how the 2 peak-fitting results for uniform alloy and actual samples with phase separation.
