[10p-Z07-2] Clarification of the Redox Mechanisms in Li-Ion-Battery Electrodes by Operando Soft X-Ray Spectroscopy

Daisuke Asakura1 (1.AIST)

Keywords:Li-ion battery, Soft X-ray spectroscopy, Operando measurement

For enhancement of the electrode performances of Li-ion batteries, crystal-structure and electronic-structure analyses have extensively been performed. In this study, operando measurement systems for soft X-ray spectroscopy, which can reveal the direct information of transition-metal 3d and oxygen 2p orbitals, have been developed. We carried out detailed electronic-structure analyses for various oxide-based electrode materials. In this presentation, the charge-discharge mechanisms analyzed from a viewpoint of solid-state physics will be discussed in addition to elucidation of the oxidation states of the transition metals.
