Naphthobispyrazine (NPz) with two imide groups, namely, naphthobispyrazinebisimide (NPI), is a promising building unit for n-type semiconducting materials owing to its high electron-deficiency. We have recently reported that π-conjugated polymers based on NPI offer deep frontier molecular orbital energy levels, and show n-type behavior with relatively high electron mobility in transistors. Here, we synthesized new NPI-based polymers copolymerized with fluorinated bithiophene and thiophene derivatives. We applied them to all-polymer solar cells as the n-type material. In this presentation, we will show the synthesis, properties, and photovoltaic properties of the polymers, and discuss the structure-property relationships.
