Electrochemiluminescence (ECL)-based detection was applied for the identification of cell surface marker molecules. Cup-shaped microelectode, which has almost same size with that of cell, was fabricated. Cancer cells were reacted with ECL probe-conjugated anti-EpCAM antibodies, and were captured to inner concaves of the cups. After the application of electric voltage, EpCAM molecules were successfully detected by ECL irradiation from the cup electrodes.
