In order to improve the time resolution and dead time performance of a single photon detector, we developed a frequency up-conversion detector using a femtosecond pulse pump and succeeded in highly time-resolved detection of ultraweak photon echo pulses from quantum dots. The performance of the detection system depends on the length of the nonlinear optical crystal , but the effect in the femtosecond region is not yet clear. Therefore, in this study, we measured the crystal length dependence of performance and examined the optimum conditions for performance improvement.
