Recently, ultrafast pulsed lasers in the mid-infrared region have been attracting attention. We are developing a Cr:ZnS laser to realize a high repetition and compact mid-infrared ultrashort pulsed light sources. In this study, a repetition frequency of 40 MHz, a center wavelength of 2.3 um, and spectrum width of 177 nm with a pulse duration of 36 fs (4.7 cycles) is realized by selecting the proper diameter of single-walled carbon nanotubes, adjusting the film thickness, Cr:ZnS crystal length, and output coupling efficiency. By introducing a two-stage single-pass amplifier, it is amplified up to 74 nJ.
