[10p-Z19-5] Temporal modification of laser source term in TTM calculations

Keywords:two-temperature model, pulsed laser ablation, temporal modification

Femtosecond pulsed laser ablation (fs-PLA) is a complex phenomena which highly depends on material and laser properties. In many simulations including two-temperature model, the temporal profile of the laser source term is always assumed to have a Gaussian form. Here, we demonstrate the effect of having a non-Gaussian temporal profile laser source term. Using copper as the model material, we calculated the temporal evolution of the electron and lattice temperatures from a single shot fs laser with a standard Gaussian, Lorentzian, and hyperbolic secant pulses, as well as a multi-Gaussian function pulse.
