[10p-Z29-7] Mechanism of Friction and Adhesion of Layered Structures Formed by Two-Dimensional Materials

Naruo Sasaki1 (1.Univ. Electro-Commun.)

Keywords:friction, Atomic Force Microscope, graphene

In this talk, I will discuss our studies on the mechanism of ultra-low friction (superlubricity), contact, or energy dissipation. First, we developed a coarse-grained potential model of the graphene/graphene interface and succeeded in speeding up the simulation of graphene exfoliation. Based on this calculation, a phase diagram for classifying the exfoliation process as a function of the graphene sheet size was derived. I will also discuss the superlubricity of the graphene/C60/graphene interface and that of the sumanene thin-film adsorbed onto the gold surface.
