[11a-Z12-4] Observation of vesicle fusion process and its promoting factor

The fusion between giant unilamellar vesicles (GUV) and fluorescent dye-encapsulated vesicles was observed by fluorescence microscopy. The progress of adhesion, semi-fusion and full fusion was investigated. We also measured the vesicle fusion depending on the ion concentration in the solution and the lipids consisting the vesicles. We will discuss the mechanism of fusion promotion.
