[11a-Z13-6] Film Preparation and Electric Properties of Diketopyrrolopyrrole Derivatives with a Face-on Orientation Based on Intermolecular Hydrogen Bonds
Keywords:hydrogen bonding, molecular orientation, carrier mobility
Face-on orientation of π-conjugated molecules is important to improve the vertical carrier mobility in organic semiconductors. To induce the face-on orientation based on side-by-side intermolecular hydrogen bonding, diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) derivatives with pyridyl (py) units were employed to investigate thin-film properties. According to the results of the 2D-GIWAXS measurement, py-DPP derivatives showed face-on orientation on normal glass substrates. In particular, the amount ratio of face-on was higher in 3-py-DPP and 4-py-DPP than in 2-py-DPP, where the N position of the pyridyl group might dominate the molecular orientation.
