Keywords:Terahertz waveguides, Copper oxidation

Copper (Cu) is considered as a suitable coating material for metal coated dielectric terahertz (THz) waveguides, yet suffer from oxidation issue on its surface. To realize the impact of oxides layer on THz wave propagation, coating Cu film was intentionally oxidized for study. Compare Cu film with oxidation and without oxidation, there is no detectable decrease of electric field amplitude, indicates that Cu oxides has less impacts on THz wave propagation. Hence, Cu can be still considered as leading candidate for coating material of hybrid THz waveguide.
