[11p-Z05-13] Current characteristics of Trichel-like pulse discharge with Taylor cone

Keisuke Nagao1, Yusuke Nakagawa1, Satoshi Uchida1, 〇Fumiyoshi Tochikubo1 (1.Tokyo Metropolitan Univ.)

Keywords:corona discharge, electrospray

In electrospray with negative corona, repetitive current pulse group is formed with many short current pulses, which are typically observed in Trichel pulse discharge. The tip of the Taylor cone is vibrating synchronizing with the frequency of the current pulse group, and the first pulse of the current pulse group appears when the cone tip becomes sharpened. In this report, the detailed relationship between Trichel-like pulse discharge current and the behavior of the Taylor cone tip was observed with parameters such as the interelectrode distance, applied voltage, and viscosity of the liquid.
