We have developed a perovskite layer deposition process consisting of alternating layers of PbI2 and CH3NH3I (MAI) by combinatorial infrared laser molecular beam deposition and have aimed at elucidating the mechanism of growth and degradation by controlling the deposition at the nanometer scale. In this study, we demonstrate the effect of the thickness variation of alternating layers of PbI2 and MAI on the inter-layer solid-phase reaction. The X-ray diffraction results suggest that the critical thickness is in the range of 150 ~ 300 nm, where only the CH3NH3PbI3 phase is formed by the inter-layer solid-phase reaction at room temperature.
