[8a-Z21-8] Unprecedented photoluminescence enhancement of benzanthrone induced by strong hydrogen bond formation in nanoporous silica
Keywords:nanoporous silica, photoluminescence enhancement, hydrogen bond
It is known that benzanthrone (BA) emits little light in a solid state or in a non-polar solvent, but emits weakly in a protic solvent. However, we found that when BA was incorporated into the pores of SMPS, it showed strong photoluminescence. As a result of the analysis, it was suggested that the strong photoluminescence enhancement is related not only to the isolated support of the molecule but also to the strong hydrogen bond that can be formed only in SMPS. By applying this new mechanism, it is possible to further expand the function of molecules incorporated into the porous silica pores.
