High temperature injury of rice during ripening due to global warming is serious problem. Seeds of rice (Oryza sativa L.) that have undergone high temperature ripening exhibit delayed germination. Therefore, improvement of germination characteristics is an important issue. Recently, it has been shown that irradiation of atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma improves germination and growth and increases crop yield. Here, we report the improvement of germination characteristics by plasma irradiation for rice seeds that have been ripened at high temperature .
