In this work, we propose a methodology for developing a compact, real time living cell fluorescence imaging system. Our system was structured in a shape that allows it to be inserted inside an incubator for signal acquisition, which is highly beneficial for cellular health. It was tested in two different subjects, orange fluorescent polystyrene microspheres and in a GFP stained cell culture. The results showed that our system can detect and capture both strong fluorescence, as emitted by the orange beads, and weak fluorescence signals, such as the one emitted by the cells.
