[8p-Z29-5] Effects of vapor phase precursors on the selective synthesis of (6,4) single-walled carbon nanotubes

We have succeeded in high purity synthesis of (6,4) SWNTs by controlling the surface condition of the nanoscale catalyst. In this study, we focused on correlation between (6,4) SWNTs growth and gas phase state during plasma CVD synthesis for further improvement of (6,4) SWNTs purity. We tried synthesis under many different plasma conditions, and we found that there is a correlation between (6,4) SWNTs purity and difference of precursors generated by plasma. This result shows that gas phase precursor species have strong effects on chirality selectivity.
