[9a-Z12-3] Insertion Force Analysis of Bioabsorbable Microneedles

Yukihiro Kanda1, Hiroaki Takehara1,2, Takanori Ichiki1,2 (1.Sch. Eng., Univ. Tokyo., 2.iCONM)

Keywords:microneedle, bioabsorbable materials, insertion force

Precision molding and processing technology for polymer materials is important as a basic technology that supports the development of medical devices, and technological development for device miniaturization is underway. In particular, microneedles using bioabsorbable polymers have attracted attention as a minimally invasive drug delivery technology. However, the polymer material has low strength and is difficult for insertion into the skin. Then, the mechanical analysis method of the insertion force by the precision molding and the insertion test of the microneedle using the bioabsorbable polymer was examined.
