Keywords:nanobubble, size distribution, coalescence

Nanobubbles (NB) have various unique properties. We investigated the size distribution of nanobubbles by nanoparticle tracking analysis, and revealed that the bubble size is discrete and that the bubble size increases by a factor of √2. This specific size distribution is interpreted as being due to the fact that nanobubbles having the size coalesce preferentially. We will discuss why NBs of the same size are easy to coalesce, including implications for nanobubble stability.
