[9p-Z06-2] Improvement of scanning performance and functional extensions of high-speed AFM for biological sciences

Tetsuyuki Kodera1,2 (1.Kanazawa Univ., 2.CREST, JST)

Keywords:High-speed AFM, Biomolecule, Protein

High-speed AFM (HS-AFM) allowed us to directly observe the dynamics behaviors of biomolecules at video. However, its spatiotemporal resolution is still not high enough to study the detailed mechanism of biological reactions. In addition, the current HS-AFM cannot study the functional modulation of biomolecules induced by external force and the structure-function relationships for the membrane transporters. In this presentation, our recent activities on the improvement of scanning performance and the functional extensions of HS-AFM for biological sciences will be presented.
