[9p-Z14-4] Boron neutron capture therapy facilities in the world

Yoshiaki Kiyanagi1 (1.Nagoya University)

Keywords:Boron Neutron Capture Therapy, Accelerator based neutron facility, Facilities in the world

Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) has been applied to skin cancer, brain tumor, head and neck cancer and so on. So far, it has been developed by using nuclear reactors. However, recently accelerator based BNCT facilities have been constructed in hospitals. A facility based on a cyclotron in Kyoto University is the world first one. In Japan, many BNCT facilities based on various accelerators have been constructed. Overseas, one facility is operating now and some are under planning and construction.
