Optical beams with polariztion singularities can host all three types of Stokes vortices simultaneously and it have been demonstrated recently using interferometric methods. In this paper we present a non-interferometric method to increase or decrease the number of Stokes vortices present in the beam using spatially varying half wave plate. The number of Stokes vortices in the transmitted beam depend on the order of spatially varying half wave plate.
