In this article the role of helicity of C-point on sign of Stokes field
phase vortices is presented. It is found that the sign of $S_{23}$ and $S_{31}$ Stokes field phase vortices depend upon the helicity of the C-point polarization singularity. Both theoretical
and experimental results are presented to substantiate this concept.
