REBa2Cu3Oy(RE123) superconductors exhibit high critical temperature (Tc) and high critical current density (Jc) under magnetic fields. However, randomly grain oriented RE123 polycrystalline bulks show low Jc due to weak link of grain boundary. Therefore, we fabricated c-axis grain aligned RE123 sintered bulks by a simple magnetic grain orientation technique using permanent magnets and EtOH. In this study, we compared the Jc properties and microstructures of Dy123 magnetically aligned sintered bulks with ramdomly oriented.
