[12a-A407-4] Adsorption of Phospholipid Vesicles on Silicone Oil–Water Interfaces
Keywords:oil-water interfaces, monolayers
We studied the vesicle adsorption on silicone oil–water interfaces. The purpose of this study was to understand the membrane deformation mechanisms on the oil–water interface and the factors that affected adsorption behaviors. The adsorption of giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) was investigated using fluorescence microscopy in order to clarify the membrane deformation mechanisms. The adsorption of large unilamellar vesicles (LUVs) was also investigated using fluorescence microscopy and pendant drop tensiometry in order to elucidate the effect of various variables on the lipid binding. In this presentation, we will show the results obtained using GUVs and LUVs.
