[12a-B406-4] Higher-order mode conversion in a few-mode fiber based on phase matching and polarization control

Mode-division multiplexing technology has attracted attention for increasing the transmission capacity of optical fibers. We are studying the mode conversion between higher-order modes in few-mode fibers. We report the experimental results on the evaluation of the effect of polarization control of input LP11 mode and the phase matching with LP21 mode using force-induced long-period fiber gratings.
