△ [12a-B508-11] Improvement of SHG conversion efficiency by optical injection locking of a gain-switched LD pulses
Keywords:semiconductor laser pulse, second harmonic generation conversion efficiency
Second harmonic conversion has been often used in the generation of visible optical pulses, applied in stimulated-emisson-depletion (STED) microscopy, from amplified optical pulses generated by gain-switched LD within infrared region. However, due to the sharp spike via relaxation oscilation, it is difficult to be able to control temporal waveforms of the optical pulses. In this report, a new method of using CW light injecting to a gain-switched Fabry-perot LD are demonstrated to obtain smooth-shape, narrow-linewidth optical pulses for a high efficiency SH conversion.
