Optical vortex beams have a phase singularity derived from the spiral wavefront and a doughnut-shaped intensity distribution of the pumping beam. In order to extend the possible applications of such vortex beams, it is essential to count with a variety of laser light beams generated by means of vortex modes as the fundamental mode. In this study, we constructed a laser cavity based on Laguerre-Gaussian mode (index ℓ), which is the most typical optical vortex, and coupled multiple Laguerre-Gaussian modes by generating second harmonic within the cavity resonator.
