[12a-PA2-12] Evaluation of Carbon Nanotubes / Cu Composite Electrode as Li Ion Capacitors

We synthesized vertically aligned carbon nanotube (CNT)/Cu composite electrode and evaluated the charging capacity of the CNT/Cu composite electrode as anode of Li Ion capacitors. The CNT/Cu electrode was fabricated by alcohol catalyst chemical vapor deposition method using ethanol as carbon source and Co nano layer as catalysts on a Cr layer deposited Cu substrate. We confirmed that the surface modification of a Cu substrate with vertically aligned CNT improved specific surface area, and the CNT/Cu electrode has a capacity 12 times higher than a Cu plate electrode.
