Keywords:mid-infrared, laser, femtosecond

In this research, we are developing a Cr:ZnS mid-infrared femtosecond laser using a SWCNT film with a diameter larger than usual as a saturable absorber. Here we show experimentally that this diameter control can provide excellent saturable absorption characteristics of SWCNT at the oscillation wavelength of Cr:ZnS. Subsequently, SWCNT samples having different thicknesses were prepared, and the oscillation characteristics of the mode-locked Cr:ZnS laser obtained using them were evaluated.
