Imaging of prompt X-rays emitted during particle-ion irradiation is a promising method for range estimation. To improve the performance of the camera, we developed two types of YAP(Ce) detectors and tried imaging of particle-ions. The imaging detector used 40-mm × 40-mm × 1-mm YAP(Ce) detector showed artifacts in the image during irradiation of particles-ions. While the imaging detector used 20-mm × 20-mm × 0.5-mm YAP(Ce) detector showed excellent images during irradiation of particles-ions without artifacts. We will discuss the reasons of the artifacts and clarify the importance aspects of imaging of the trajectories of the particle-ions.
