To develop a reconstruction-less PET, the PET detectors should have a coincidence time resolution of 20-35 ps. Cherenkov emission plays an important role to enhance the timing performance of the detector, the number of Cherenkov photons generated by a 511 keV gamma ray is only 30 at most. To effectively detect the Cherenkov photons, an MCP-PMT where the Cherenkov radiator is integrated was developed. Timing performance of the detector was investigated by conducting an experiment, where a ^{22}Na point source collimated by a Pb collimator of 1.0 mm φ × 50 mm was located at the center of the detectors. As a result, the coincidence time resolution of 41.7 ps was obtained.
