[13a-A408-12] Development of ultrasonic phantom using calcium alginate gel

Minoru Aoyagi1 (1.NIT)

Keywords:Ultrasonic phantom, Calcium alginate

An ultrasonic phantom having an ultrasonic characteristic close to that of a human body is used for practicing or adjusting an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. We are studying how to make phantoms that are cheap and easy to make. The phantom made of calcium alginate hydrogel developed by us has characteristics similar to the ultrasonic characteristics of the human body, but when observed with an ultrasonic diagnostic device, there is noise like bright spots. In this report, we report a phantom of calcium alginate hydrogel with improved noise.
