Although the possibility of external magnetic field distribution mapping using terahertz (THz) emission from semiconductor surfaces was reported, the THz magneto-optic imaging (MOI) was not demonstrated yet. In present work, the different type of THz-MOI with compact magneto-optic sensor from THz-wave spintronic emitter and electro-optic detector wafers sandwiched together and capped with metal mirror is actually realized. The use of bulky THz steering/collection optics is completely eliminated in our MOI. The corresponding image contrast is a convolution of emitter efficiency and detector sensitivity to spintronic layer magnetization vector and magnitude. Potentially, this technique could significantly contribute to the very limited number of reported MOI schemes for non-destructive testing (NDT) applications.
