▲ [13a-B508-9] THz Time-Domain Magneto-Optic On-Chip Sensor/Imager Based on Spintronic THz Emission (II)

We will present magneto optic imaging (MOI) studies utilizing the THz radiation generated by a diabolo-shaped spintronic Fe/Pt antenna with the use of an on-chip sensor/imager system. We made use of the spintronic heterostructure's sensitivity to a relatively weak magnetic field for magneto-optic imaging. Results showed an improved signal to noise ratio (SNR) when the diabolo-shaped antenna was used as the THz emitter. This can be attributed to the fact that the spintronic antenna is a more efficient THz emitter compared to the plain spintronic heterostructure. However, different contrast of the obtained MOI image of the magnet was observed when using the diabolo-shaped antenna as the THz source. This may be the effect of the antenna structure or the pump beam and antenna alignment.
