[13a-PB2-2] Effect of striae on intrinsic optical absorption bands in fused quartz
Keywords:Silica glass
In previous studies, irregular measurements were observed in the measured values of the optical absorption intensity of fused silica glass fused with natural quartz powder. The cause of the fluctuation was considered to be the effect of a sudden change in the refractive index, which is called striae. This time, a sample with striae was prepared. The influence of striae on the light absorption band was investigated by measuring the variation of the intrinsic light absorption intensity and OH concentration while changing the measurement position minutely in the fabricated silica glass block.
