We propose and studyies sensitized thermal cells inspired by dye-sensitized solar cells (Mater. Horiz., 2017, 4, 649.; J. Mater.Chem. A, 2019, 7, 18249.). In this system, electric power is generated by the redox reactions in the electrolyte by thermally excited electrons and holes in the semiconductor. The ion oxidation is occured at the semiconductor electrode, and the ion reduction is occured at the FTO electrode. This time, to investigate the contribution of oxidation and reduction reactions to electric power generation, we report whether power generation occurs when only oxide ions and only reduced ions are present in the electrolyte.
