According to the previous research from U. Rau, solar cells which “shine brightly” are “good” solar cells. Comparing Wire on Well (WoW) and Planar Superlattice (PSL), the carrier lifetime of WoW is longer than that of PSL, and the effective carrier mobility of WoW is higher than that of PSL. These results imply that the superiority of WoW solar cells over PSL solar cells. Therefore, electroluminescence measurements were conducted. However, it was found that the luminescent intensity of WoW is lower than PSL. In this presentation, we will discuss why the WoW solar cells have good device characteristics despite of low electroluminescent intensity.
