In this research, we have focused on the development of a biomimetic artificial visual function device using bacteriorhodopsin. In the previous study, we have succeeded in inkjet patterning of bacteriorhodopsin using a material printer, and reported on an attempt to fabricate devices. Using this technology, we are trying to fabricate a visual information processing device. This time, we focused on the Gabor filter among the visual functions, and optimized the current response by making it and using a overlayed film. Current response which was good agreement with the original function was obtained for the multilayered Gabor filter, and the spatial frequency characteristics were almost as designed.
