▼ [13p-A408-6] A honeycomb-matrix retinal prosthesis with chemical-derived IrOx electrodes for retinal disease application
Keywords:retinal prosthesis
Biomedical microelectromechanical systems (Bio-MEMS) devices have been developed for resolving the medical problems in the past decade such as visual disorders. In fact, the visual prosthesis has been considered as a feasible remedy for the patient suffering in visual disorders. Therefore, we developed a retinal device using suprachoroidal-transretinal stimulation (STS) to restore the visual perception from the visual disease. For the purpose of achieving the retinal softness and the threshold electrical stimulation, we proposed a flexible honeycomb type STS device with the chemical-derived iridium oxide electrode arrays. The device fabrication and in-vivo electrophysiological responses are discussed in this research.
