We conducted printing of highly-crystalline small-molecule-based organic semiconductor on Cytop gate dielectric, which is considered effective for improving device characteristics, but has highly hydrophobic nature. Here we designed a hydrophilic electrode pattern surrounding highly hydrophobic Cytop region, which enables solution meniscus to behave apparently wettable on Cytop, thus leading to printing of semiconductor film on Cytop. We fabricated organic transistors based on the technique, and we achieved sharp on/off switching with subthreshold swing as small as 72 mV/dec on average. The results indicate that printed single-crystal semiconductor/Cytop gate dielectric contributes to high-quality carrier transport interface.
