[13p-A501-3] Development of positron-emitting nuclide 127 Cs tracer to visualize cesium dynamics in living plants

Nobuo Suzui1 (1.QST)

Keywords:radioisotope, imaging

We have been researching the mechanism of the element transport in plants by producing positron-emitting nuclides (11CO2, 13N2, 107Cd, etc.) and using a planar-type positron imaging device. Since the Fukushima nuclear accident in 2011, we have been working on the development of positron imaging technology for cesium in plants. In this presentation, I will introduce a new method for purifying 127Cs positron-emitting nuclide (half-life: 6.25 hours).
