[13p-B409-14] Novel crystallization of protein using surface plasmon resonance of colloidal gold film
Keywords:prptein, crystal, plasmon resonance
We found that the enhanced electric field caused by the surface plasmon resonance of the gold nanostructure acts like optical tweezers, trapping, concentrating, and crystallizing molecules. Utilizing this phenomenon, we worked on crystallization of proteins and crystallization of low molecular weight molecules. As the surface plasmon resonance, gap mode plasmon resonance generated in a gap between adjacent gold particles was used. Due to this resonance, the electric field of the light increases 10,000 times. When the gap mode resonance was induced, no chemical reaction occurred, and crystallization was induced.
