Terahertz time domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) data have been used for characterizing dielectric properties of many different high-refractive index, low-loss multi-component glass materials. The relationship between the THz and optical refractive indices has been found to be well characterized by using the ion- to electron-polarizability ratio of each glass family as a unique parameter. Also, for all different glasses, the single oscillator model has been shown to be applicable to describe the dielectric dispersion properties. These results provide a solid foundation for a unified dielectric model for muti-component glasses.
