[13p-D215-1] Production of a quantum-state-selected O2, H2 beam and its application to
surface reaction analysis
Keywords:surface reaction, oxygen, hydrogen
Quantum-state-selected molecular beam allows us to investigate the effects of molecule's orientation, rotation, vibration and spin states on gas-surface reactions. Using a single spin-rotational state-selected O2 beam, we have clarified how the alignment and electron spin of an impinging O2 affect its adsorption and/or scattering processes. In this talk, I will present the alignment-resolved O2 chemisorption experiment on stepped Pt surfaces and the development of a nuclear-spin/ rotational state selected H2 beam.
